Define –

Social Documentary – a form of documentary photography that tries to bring attention to social issues around the world to instill some kind of change.

Concerned Photography – A type of documentary photography that focuses on topics that are controversial but not well known to try and bring attention to it.

Compassionate Photography – A type of documentary photography in which the photographer shows or presents a topic that they are compassionate about.

While researching Dorothea Lange and her photographs I learned that she did most of her work in the era of the great depression. She worked for the FSA to humanize the results of the depression and worked to spread the struggles that these people went through. Her name went down in history as the great photojournalist who put a face to the struggles of the country.
